Preston D. McSwain

Preston McSwain is the President and Founder of SJM Fiduciary Advisors.  After spending much of his career in senior roles at larger organizations, Preston started SJM to provide wealth and investment management consulting services with objective resources and idea flow.  

Prior to founding SJM, Preston was a Managing Director at both Neuberger Berman and Lehman Brothers.  He founded the Private Asset Management Division of Neuberger in New England and grew it to manage approximately $1.5 billion.  He was also instrumental in the growth of both the Neuberger and Lehman trust companies’ investment consulting groups.   At Lehman, Preston was the recipient of the Chairman’s Award, which was given to only the top 50 professionals in the organization worldwide.

Prior to Neuberger and Lehman, Preston founded a trust division for a regional bank in Massachusetts.  He started his career at State Street Bank & Trust in the Asset Management Division,  covering institutional consultants such as Cambridge Associates.

Preston sits on the Board of the Pioneer Institute, Board of Overseers of the Peabody Essex Museum, is the Treasurer of the Church of the Redeemer in Chestnut Hill, and is a member of the Economic Club of New York.  He also is a founder of a public charter school, Boston Preparatory Academy, which was recently named by an independent think tank as one of the top 5 charter schools in the nation in terms of student achievement.

Preston lives with his wife Susan, son Jack and daughter Meghan (SJM) in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.


Erik R. Marr

Erik is a Relationship Manager with SJM Fiduciary.  Previously, he was a Senior Financial Associate with Weston Financial, assisting senior advisors and clients in the implementation of wealth plans.

Prior to Weston, Erik worked at Oppenheimer & Co., as a Bond Desk Associate.

Erik graduated Bentley University with a B.S. in Finance and is currently pursuing his CFP through Boston University’s Certificate of Financial Planning program.
